Forest School Leader
Responsible to Forest School Director
Salary: £23, 439 pro-rata
Hours of work: 32 hours per week 52 weeks a year (Job share considered)
Location: Ansley Common, Warwickshire

We are looking for someone to join our exciting new forest school team to deliver forest school sessions for children up to age 11, alongside helping to develop our amazing outdoor setting in the heart of North Warwickshire.
Based at Nursery Hill Primary School, as well as providing sessions for pupils aged 3-11, we also offer sessions to the wider community including weekly stay and play sessions for children aged 0-5 and an after-school session for primary age children. The role will be 5 days a week (Monday-Thursday and Saturday). You will be part of the outdoor team and
therefore will be outdoors much of the time.
You will be required to work to the established policies and procedures of the setting. When supervising the children, you will establish routines and boundaries to ensure their wellbeing and safety, ensuring that any safeguarding concerns are dealt with without delay following the setting’s safeguarding procedures.
In addition to your day-to-day duties, you will be expected to maintain and contribute to the development of the site, carry out daily cleaning and attend staff meetings and complete both in-house and any additional training to ensure you remain up to date with legislation and implementation of best practice, including Health and Safety.
If you are a Qualified Forest School Practitioner (Level 3) with a passion for outdoors, who is familiar with the Early Years Foundation Stage as well as primary school age, this exciting opportunity could be the role for you.
Essential criteria
- Highly skilled forest school practitioner with a passion for working in the outdoors and enthusiasm to share it with others
- Enjoy working with very young children from a range of backgrounds and commitment to supporting their physical, social and emotional development through forest school and outdoor play activities
- Skilled and knowledgeable in a range of age-appropriate outdoor activities including games and crafts, and able to share skills in line with good practice, policies and procedures
- A good communicator, friendly and polite and able enthuse and motivate others
- Good planning and organisational skills and able to work to deadlines,
- Proactive at prioritising, problem solving and getting things done
- Able to use judgement and intellect to work on own initiative
- Friendly and polite with excellent people skills and a sense of humour
- A team player with a willingness to work co-operatively within communities
- Up to date Outdoor First Aid qualification (min 16 hours)
